Hello. And Bye.
I am coming to Loja in November and wonder if I could come for a retreat in December.
Please always send inquiries like this to gaiasagrada@umsonline.org so our team can answer your questions. We are not watching the comments to answer these kinds of questions in a timely manner. Please use our contact page for all inquiries about reservations and such!
Have been browsing your website to get the feel of this retreat. It sounds wonderful. Was wondering the minimum age requirement for a single person for this retreat.
You must be 18 years old to be in a ceremony.
I am interested. Please give me a snapshot of one of your typical days. Wake up, go to common house for coffee, work on garden. Is there a common goal? Is there an entrepreneurial group ” thing ” ? I lived in a wonderful commune in the 70’s. Most happy time in my life. I am not a young one, but I can still be helpful and am a great cook. I became a widow. Have been working as a Nanny and wrote a children’s book. Thinking of a new adventure, and was going to Panama. Want to make a very safe choice, as I am now a single.
Thank you… Leslie
The only way to really know what’s here is to come and see for yourself! There is no particular kind of day though, as it is different when there are retreats or not. Ecuador is a great place to be, safe in most parts, and especially here! We don’t have an entrepreneurial group thing going, but we do have a work exchange program. Check it out!
Hello,
I’m a native New Yorker and I’m very interested in the work exchange program. I’m currently a line Supervisor for NYCTA track dept. I operate 10 + different pieces of heavy machinery. I’m very handy. If you can link me to any information regarding this program I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! James
If you are interested in work exchange volunteer positions, go to https://gsar.nfshost.com/work-exchange-retreats/ where we have all the information and a link to the application form!

Looking forward to the shamanic retreat in April! The whole place seems out of this world!
Hi, my husband and I are wanting to relocate to central/south America and are considering Ecuador. We appreciate the opportunity to be able to stay at a facility such as yours, however, we are travelling with a pet – an 11 yr border collie cross. Are pets allowed in your facility?
Cats are welcome if you are staying for 3 months or more, but we cannot facilitate dogs here, so sorry!
How much would food be if you want to stay there a while? If someone wanted to stay for a month or two, how much would it cost for food? =)
Here is the link to the non-retreat prices, https://gsar.nfshost.com/reservations-booking/room-and-apartment-rental-prices-at-gaia-sagrada/ and if there is no retreat going on you would have to buy and cook your own food. However, if a retreat is going on, food is $15 per day, unlimited, and you can eat with retreat participants! We only make food during retreats. Between retreats you can use the kitchen to your heart’s delight!
You would have to buy and cook your own food between retreats, about $300-400 per month for food.
what about medical emergency? Is there a hospital close by? Any roads there leading to you? How does one get to your community if from international places? Shalom-Namaste
The hospital is 45 minutes away by car. Gaia Sagrada is very rural. The roads to get to Gaia Sagrada are good though. For travel info to arrive, see Getting to Gaia Sagrada
Peace, I am interested in coming, Spring time, for your 12 Day Retreat.
I really want to do a 40 day ‘silent’ retreat. Do you offer such a space or know of someone/place?????????
Be Well, Love, Aza
Yes, you can do that here, we have people who come for silent retreat, they just wear a “i am in silence” badge and everyone honors it.
Are kids allowed? We have two children, 2 and 5. Ideally we’d like to join an intentional community with other families, just exploring right now.
Unfortunately we are not equipped for children right now, and we don’t have day care or schooling which is required by Ecuador, and if children make noise it will disturb retreats, so right now we cant have children, but maybe in the future! Check back with us in a couple years.
hi there, i am interested in your ayahuasca ceremony. can i do this without the san pedro? Also, i will be coming to ecuador in february with my 4 year old son. Do you allow children to your center? I assume the ceremony will be at night so he will be sleeping then.
Thanks,
Melanie
You can choose to sit out during the San Pedro ceremonies, but we don’t have a shorter retreat that doesn’t include San Pedro. If I was you, though, i wouldn’t miss it for the world!
San Pedro is incredible and magical. The ceremonies are amazing. It is a much stronger medicine than Ayahuasca, too, a whole different energy. San Pedro is the grandfather wisdom as opposed to the grandmother wisdom of Ayahuasca, which gives the retreat balance between the masculine and feminine experiences with medicine that are possible.
Personally, I feel that one without the other in a retreat is not a balanced experience!

Everyone is welcome to come and try it out! We invite you to just come for a little bit and see how it fits you. That’s the only way to know!
This sounds wonderful.
What is the weather temp like winter and summer? Dry or humid?
Who lives here full time? How many people? Children? Any animals? Do you have a garden?
I am looking for a place to connect with nature and Sprit and be quiet and heal.
Is there any place to swim? Natural hot springs?
I have a very good feeling.
Thank you
Blessings,
Weather is like spring, not too hot, not too cold, and not humid either. Fresh mountain springlike air! It’s an organic farm, cool people, no children right now, hot tubs and sauna, come check it out!
Your place looks like Heaven on Earth…congratulations!
What supplies the electricity? I am sensitive to EMF and RF so prefer to be away from cell phone reception and especially wireless ‘smart meters’
Thanks,
Sylvia
We are on regular electricity right now, but working on solar. No smart meters in Ecuador!
