Ayahuasca Documentary Video is In the Works!
We are presently developing and filming an ayahausca documentary video so you can see what it is like to be at Gaia Sagrada and hear from other people what the ayahuasca experience is like. We have professional documentary experts working on this as you read this! An ayahuasca documentary (ayahuasca video) is how many people research the ayahuasca experience when they first begin to look at whether or not they want to attend an ayahausca retreat.
If you come, you are welcome to participate in our ayahausca documentary (and our shorter ayahuasca videos) and offer your perceptions on your ayahuasca experience! An ayahuasca documentary is going to give you an opportunity to look into what an experience with ayahuasca is going to be like, but no ayahuasca video can really tell you what the full experience is like. An ayahuasca experIence is indescribable with words.
So keep an eye out for our ayahuasca documentary and our shorter ayahausca video offerings that are coming soon! We hope to portray a little bit more what the ayahuasca experience is like. You will love our ayahuasca documentary. We promise!
A Few Ayahuasca Retreat Reviews
“I was blown away by how cool this place is to do a ceremony, very surreal. The peace, stars, angel in the sky above our ceremony: perfect! The shamans were awesome and I really experienced something amazing, got a lot of insights. I would recommend this place for Ayahuasca retreats to anyone looking for one. Priced right too.” John Benkins – USA
“Strong medicine. These guys deliver!” Tom R. – Europe
“The people running these retreats were so nice to me, took good care of me. Thank you! I really liked Santiago’s magic and Miguel’s sweetness. You guys picked good shamans.” Denise Richter – USA
“I loved how nurturing this place is. I did a lot of hiking on the non-ceremony days, beautiful views in every direction. Took a lot of photos. Got a really great healing from one of the shamans, helped my neck stop hurting and took my headache away in a private session.” Cathryn Jaymes – Australia
“We became quite a family by the end of the 12-day Ayahuasca Retreat. Lots of support!” Lana Anderson – France
“We stayed at Gaia Sagrada for 1 and 1/2 months and had a great time. The property and surrounding area are gorgeous; it’s a perfect setting for relaxation and healing. We stayed in an apartment which was very comfortable and all the buildings there are beautifully built. The kitchen is great and they have top of the line machines.
“Christine and Bruce are so warm, welcoming, open hearted and do everything to make sure their guests are comfortable. They are also knowledgable about so many subjects that we were interested in that it made for great conversations… The plant medicine ceremonies were beautiful, and the shamans that came were very experienced…An unexpected bonus was the super fast internet which was better than everywhere else we stayed in Ecuador… It’d be hard to find another place that felt as safe and loving as Gaia Sagrada.” – Callahan (United States) & Andri (Iceland)
“The shamans wrote those icaros, great songs, made me relax. They gave us the silence we needed too. I really liked the atmosphere of the ceremonies and the care that went into them all. We got individual attention, wasn’t too big. The shamans were really interesting to talk to, some of them speak English. I’m coming back!” Deepak Sumar – USA
“My husband and I repaired our relationship after this retreat, very inspiring, lots of wisdom gained, saw our patterns clearly.” Cassandra Pierson – USA
“I had so much fun. I have some new lifelong friends. Thanks for the great memories. I’ll be back next year!”Greg Beckenstein – Germany
“I have been to lots of Ayahuasca retreats, but this one is tops on my list of places to go. I was really pleased with the strength of the medicine, the shamans, the service oriented attitude of everyone there, the relaxed atmosphere and the food was terrific! I especially liked that lasagna and also the raw food pies! Who knew eating healthy could be so tasty? Did I mention the raw food pies?” Georgia Banks – USA
“There’s so many good things I could say about Gaia Sagrada that its hard to put it all into words. I had been reading about ayahuasca here and there since 2008 but never thought I would ever actually go do it. When I booked the trip I was in a deep, dark depression before coming to Gaia. I felt as though I was at the end of my rope and spent my days living in isolation with constant anxiety and PTSD because of recent events that happened in my life over the past two years. I found myself getting worse and worse by the day so I knew it was time to finally go and try ayahuasca. Mother ayahuasca was definitely calling me!! Now I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I hadn’t come to Gaia. This trip literally SAVED MY LIFE! I am no longer depressed. I feel fresh, recharged, free and weightless from the burdens that were troubling me on a daily basis before coming. And I felt this way after only one ayahuasca ceremony and one san pedro ceremony. It still has me in amazement.
“Gaia Sagrada makes everyone feel very welcome and comfortable. Christine is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met in my life. The shamans are beyond incredible. Bruce is awesome. And the work exchangers really bring it all together! I was taken care of from the moment I entered the gates until the moment I left. The food portions were more than I had expected and there was always lots of different choices to choose from during the meal times and outside of the meal times in the community kitchen. The location that Christine and Bruce have picked to build this amazing community is breathtaking! One of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been to. I really enjoyed connecting with everyone while I was there. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life…

Can I just ask are the ceremonies taking the ayahuasca done in the dark I have a phobia regarding the dark dark where I can see a little is ok
Thanks for responding ami Adelaide aussu
Actually, no, it’s not pitch black. That is one tradition, but there are other traditions where the fire in the middle of the ceremony is how they do it, and that’s the Ecaudorian tradition our shamans use, as we are aware of people being afraid in the dark. This way there is always a little light. We let the fire go down to a low flame and embers at the right time for the medicine so it is pretty dark, but it is always there for those who sometimes are afraid of the dark. If a person wants to be in complete darkness, all they have to do is cover their eyes with an eye-mask, or huddle under their blanket, and we have both worlds covered that way, those who need a little light, and those who don’t!
Gaia Sagrada was, without a doubt, the single most transformational experience of my life. The retreat facility itself is exceptional – from the sleeping accommodations, showers, food and dining area, common and recreational areas, to the spaces set up for the ceremonies – everything was top notch.
Really, though, the thing that made Gaia so wonderful for me was the work and teachings of the wonderful shamans, and of Christine herself. The experience of the medicine was my draw before I came, but the medicine was only made meaningful by the teaching and skill of the shamans. The whole experience opened my eyes and changed my life.
Thank you, Christine. I am still living the changes that your retreat instilled in me; still feeling the clarity and love that broke through for me there.
If you’re thinking of having this experience – do it at Gaia Sagrada. It is so worth it.

Very amazing and beautiful location for the ceremony and it seems to be perfect for the retreat.
Gaia Sagrada is a place where dreams become reality and magic shine in every moment. I had the time of my life over 12 days this April on a retreat with some of the most wonderful people. Each ceremony got consecutively more amazing with wonderful healing and very powerful energy. The medicine’s were just perfect for what needed to be done individually and for the whole group together. We all connected deeply and found many truths within the sacred fire that burns in all the hearts of those that visit and live at Gaia Sagrada. It was an experience that I will take with me always wherever I go and the sound of the tree frog will tick tock, click clock in times of need. The Shamans were wonderful and helped facilitate a unique space and helpful guidance for each ceremony. It felt like being reborn every day, by the end I felt like a new person blessed by benevolent spirits and truly grateful for all the love that was shared. I recommend this retreat for anyone that is looking for an awakening that is shared with great people in a beautiful setting! Thank you Christine and Bruce for taking the leap and creating such a place for people of all nations to come together and take refuge in the embrace of Gaia Sagrada!
The retreat center is a place that feels very safe to be doing these ceremonies. It is in a beautiful location in the mountains of Ecuador. Hiking around the area was exhilarating and I think I did it every day, even the days of the ceremonies.
I didn’t need to lose weight, but because of the healthy food and the cleansing caused by the plant medicines, I got rid of the bloating I had been experiencing for the last couple years. I think I lost a few pounds, too.
I will be going back to visit Christine and Bruce and spend some time in the hot tub and sauna sometime later this year.
I made several friends who I hope to stay in touch with.
